The movie premiered on August 2, 2008. It is based on a true story, which occurred at McKinney North High School in McKinney, Texas in 2006. The movie is based on a scandal in which five teenage cheerleaders terrorized their school and played by their own rules because the principal was one of the girls’ mother.
