Yep. Pretty Much. The web finally grows up and becomes what it was promised to be.

I have predicted that there will no longer be a desktop computer. What you will have instead is a mobile device that is always web aware and connects to your monitor via a built-in docking unit. Then the mobile device switches from mobile mode to desktop mode. The Palm Pre, IMHO, is the ancestor of what the mobile device I am talking about will be. It will be an operating system that uses web standards. Maybe a cross between WebOS and Chrome OS.

With HTML5 the future looks very exciting from a web development perspective.

Is it possible to create a complete client side application using HTML 5 (it will embed chat clients, stock ticker) + javascript, and then bundle is with underlines Firefox 3.5 engine, so that user can install it as a desktop app on linux, and then it runs in own window using firefox 3.5 engine. The app will store everything in localstorage – like urls, usernames etc, and will interact with any local server.
