Will Droid will be first serious attempt to compete with iPhone? Though it is tough to answer that but Droid sure looks like to be the one. The aggressive campaign by Verizon and Motorola (Droid Does ad, see the video and image below) too will add to the selling factor. As per co-Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Jha of Motorola the phone features a larger screen than Apple’s top-selling iPhone and has higher resolution. It will be available November 6, 2009 on the Verizon Wireless Web site and in retail stores. The price will be $199.99 with a two-year agreement after a $100 mail-in rebate.

The initial reviews from various website’s are good to begin with, though we still have to get a full review of the phone. Below are few reviews from popular websites:

CNET Blogs:  “The display is gorgeous, Android 2.0 looks spiffy, and the handset appears to be lightning fast. Though we’ll refrain from using the dreaded “iPhone killer” expression, comparisons between the two devices are obvious, particularly in light of Verizon’s snarky ad campaign.

TechCrunch: “Hands on with the Motorola Droid: Sexy”

Mashable: “Motorola Droid Looks Set to Kill Us All
