"balck people stole my car" google will then suggest , :did you mean, " black people stole my car" .

then , the person goes up to the seach bar, deletes black and puts in the word white.. then takes a screen shot. so it appears that it comes from the same search.

Oh my god haha, what started as a simple joke has turned into a hate filled and nasty argument. Ok i feel i have to say a few things,
Firstly, when people are on message boards and other places on the internet, they might not feel the need to use 100% correct english, because normally a bit of slang is ok, but for those of you who never use slang even on the internet, I think you may have to come to terms with the fact that the majority of people do. Also, spelling mistakes and grammar have no connection whatsoever with intelligence, as a person may have dyslexia or another problem that may be causing them difficulties with writing, even if they are extremely intelligent.So don't go saying they're dumb because they can't spell.
Second, i hate the way people use the phrase 'it's a free country', because all that means is that your country is not owned by another country and that it has its own govnerment. People seem to think that it gives them the right to say what they want even if they know it will hurt other people, which is quite sad.
Also, all these hate arguments with the word 'racist' flying around really saddens me. It's almost as if some people think they will stop all racism by posting something on a message board, or get all people to their way of thinking. So to all you people out there who think like that, i'm sorry, but no matter how much you comment on the internet, some people just wont see your way of thinking. Get used to it.
Another thing. I can't believe that some people feel they can say things like 'blacks have never contributed anything to humanity'. Now although you may have freedom of speech, you have to understand that in today's society many people can easily call you a racist because of that comment. Just to let you know the colour of my skin is tanned white, and I have many black friends who also find this funny so although they do not speak for all blacks, they do show how it is possible for blacks to take this as a joke, which I think most blacks probably do. Also this is not google being racist, as so many people love to say. When people say this it almost makes me laugh, as much as it makes me laugh when people say they get images from google. Google is a search engine and when you type it somes up with the most commonly searched sentences, even if they may appear racist. So if loads of people put 'black people stole my car' in google, and then you came along and put 'white people stole my car', it will try to be helpful and show you what people most commonly put. It is a computer, no one made it be racist, it just did it's job. If anything it is the public who are racist, because they are the ones who typed that sentence so much that google showed it as a correction. I'm sure that google fixed the problem immediately, and if you type that sentence now, you will see that so many people have seen the above picture that they tried it out themsleves and now so many people have typed it that they are now both commonly typed sentences, and so the correction no longer appears.
Also, it is my belief that we all originally came out of africa because i believe in the theory of evolution not creation (even though i am a catholic), so i think that yeah blacks did do something, because we were all black when we came out of africa originally, but im sure that many people will have contrasting views on this so please dont start having an argument on evolution!

I also said perceived place of power, and the majority. If you actually believe that one regular non-political person affects more than their family or a small portion of their community, then you are in la-la land and I dont mean California. I see a lot of people are jumping into the racism debate here. You all really need to calm down. Slavery ended almost a century and a half ago and segregation has been gone for at least a full generation. Some people are still racist of course, but they're just part of the population of idiots that humanity will never cease producing, so their opinions should mean nothing to someone with half a brain anyway. Anyone who still brings slavery or segregation up to instill guilt is just supporting the idea that "the son is accountable for the sins of the father." That's just silly.

Now as for the hard-to-deal-with facts, don't confuse what I'm about to say as racism, but it's a statement of fact that blacks commit more crimes than whites on a per capita basis. (I know quite a few people in the local justice system and the accusation that many of them are racist or corrupt is completely ridiculous, but if you believe that's the reason for the discrepancy, I can't stop you.) The correlation has nothing to do with skin color though. It's just a sad fact of life that lower income populations are susceptible to committing more crimes. It's just human nature to risk more when you have less to lose.

Why do blacks have generally lower income? Simple. Slavery. When former slaves entered the free population, they started off with very little in the way of property, skills, and education. Generally speaking, a person uses the resources passed down to them by their parents to set their own life in order. If everyone was able to double their starting resources over the course of their lives, the people who had the higher starting amount would still end up with the higher ending amount. In other words, the status quo would never change.

In the real world, or the U.S. at least, benefits and tax exemptions exist for the poor so the percentage improvement they can make is higher. This means that eventually things will level out, but this might take a while as the effect plays out over many generations. If we wish to speed that up, we should focus on raising education standards and incentives for the financially challenged. There's really little else that could help unless you're one of those people that think throwing cash at problems can solve them. Giving benefits to minorities for the sake of helping minorities is a little dumb. The criteria for aid should be something that at least doesn't assume skin color should have any bearing on your abilities. I'm one of those minorities by the way who got more financial aid than I really should have.

Again, slavery should not be used in arguments to bring about guilt. It should just be used in logic based discussions on how it impacts life today.

Yes, blacks take up 13% of th American population, yet they take up between 40%-60% of prison populations. I know other races are capable of commiting crimes, but nobody is more likely than a black. check the stats on ANY impoverished area and you will see that crime is a major issue. poverty causes disenfranchisement and when you feel like you don't matter you become hopeless. now, some people choose to live in that hopelessness and do nothing about it. then pass on this lifestyle to their children, thereby creating a culture of poverty. However, some people know that there is more to life and they make a choice to do something about it. They fight their way out of said area and make a life they can be proud of.

What's an "ignorate", educatedperson? Exactly how educated are you? Do you call yourself educatedperson because you graduated from college? Asians have given us paper, the compass, gunpowder and endless electronics. Arabo-Muslims gave us algebra, chemistry, anthropology, physics, optics, astronomy, modern medicine, the concept of a university, much of the most familiar concepts in philosophy like existentialism, essentialism and even the separation of church and state, among countless other contributions, like the theory of evolution, which, coincidentally, can help us understand why blacks are so much more inferior than everyone else. Your example of Barack Obama is one of those. His treatment by his stepfather, and things his grandmother said to him as a child about black ppl. Were things he had to overcome, these thoughts are things each black person has to over come daily. The upbring of a person is the factor that really determines the outcome of who they are. The strength to overcome that upbringing or other community factors is what makes so many of the successful African descendants a testament to what kind of over-comers we as a ppl are.

I wish you did not believe that black ppl were the link between animals and humans. That comment is absolutely ridiculous. I live in Canada, Toronto, and it's a lot more culturally diverse than America, and there's a lot less racism than America. However, even here, I can still voice my opinion that the black community is indeed committing more crimes than any other ethnicity based from my personal experience.

Let me put it to you this way, statistically, you might believe the justice system is biased, therefore blablabla, so I won't waste my time googling up facts for you to use your twisted logic on. Let me tell you my PERSONAL experiences.

I have been robbed several times by black individuals and groups, seen vandalism and inappropriate behaviour, as well as assult by blacks. Because of one incident, due to my own self defense, I was charged and had to go to court. As I walked in the court rooms, I personally SAW that ~90% of the individuals in the courtroom, AND waiting hall were black. I had to go to court twice, and each time, blacks people had the dominant presence.

Now before you go and tell me it's prejudice because of my personal experiences, Let me get a few facts across. First of all, I don't believe in White Supremacy because I am Asian. I don't believe my ethnicity to be any better than any other ethnicity, but that does not stop the fact that I can hold an opinion towards the black people from having been wronged one time to many. I also have several friends who has also been robbed by black people, and they personally dislike the black community as well. We never disliked the black ethnicity from the beginning, and we had many black friends when we were younger. However, eventually they became more distant as they adapted to the hip hop culture and only hanged around their own kin, while looking at every other culture with a condescending attitude. Of course we KNOW there are civilized and moral people in the black community, but that does not contradict theironeagle88's first statement: The black community commits crimes more often than other ethnicity.

The fact is that more poor people end up in jail. Desperate ppl do desperate things that soon become a way of life. Your prejudices do not help the situation. I will also state that the mind set that we are doing more wrong that other ppl perpetuates the crime rate. When ppl suspect you to be a thief, they treat you like they are waiting for you to commit a crime. Police treat you like a criminal and not a citizen. If other kids were under such a watchful eye they would have drug charges as a youth that would ruin their lives as well. What you say is true, however the society we live in today is one wherein black people are a minority (unless they associate solely with other black people). As a result there is obviously a feeling among most members of the black community of a secondary status being inflicted upon them by those in the majority white group (regardless of whether it is intentional or not, it is there). Denying it doesn't change how people feel, and no one wants to feel subservient. There is no need to insult people by telling them to "get an education", you can prove the presence of your own through how you choose to convey your point.
Slavery was/is a disgusting thing and I am grateful everyday that it is no longer considered the norm. However xenophobia is rife in todays society, so I would have to agree with you somewhat when you say "get an education", but not because I wish to say it to insult you, but instead I believe that everyone should take it upon themselves to learn about the cultures of others, and in this way remove xenophobia and abolish mental slavery, emancipation my brothers :)

I like both of these comments. But I don't understand why black people still feel a secondary status. Slavery has never been a part of the culture of current generations and it seems to me civil rights are now equal.. There is not anything preventing any minority from obtaining an education and establishing a career and being a contributing member of society. In fact, minorities will get money for school easier and more of it for free! I would take advantage of that!

And as far as poor neighborhoods go, there are primarily black ones in the cities and there are primarily white ones like trailer parks. For all of the people living in poverty, it is a shame, but for the most part, I believe it is their lack of ambition and motivation to strive to be a contributing part of society.

There's my 2 cents. I try to not be racist, though I know sometimes I still am. I try to give everyone a chance.
