Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University have developed buttons that pop out from a touch-screen surface. The touch screens are covered with semitransparent latex, which sits on top of a acrylic plate with holes and an air chamber connected to pump. When pump is off, the screen is flat and when the pump is on the screen become convex/concave depending on the negative or positive pressure.
